Back to the blog

by Mark on July 19, 2008

Busy, busy, busy… Well, it has been couple of weeks or maybe months since my last post here. Sorry… The picture below summarizes the missed days and the lack of blog updates.

But I am glad to be back once again here at my blog. I have been working as usual (not being a beach bum yet) and started something new in terms of surfing. I have started to surf dawn patrol during the weekdays and what an awesome session it is to surf early before the sunrise. I feel a lot better and more productive at work these days. My favorite surf break, Pops, is incredibly good this time. I hope this clue would not bring massive amount of surfers but hey what the heck, it’s not new once you experience it! Couple of early morning surf sessions, I’ve met Mayo and Sawa (two sisters) who have been a long time friends since the UH years almost 8 years ago.

Enjoy the photos below which have not been able to be posted till now.

Pink plumerias always resemble Hawaii.

These are found along the Diamond Head trail. If you find one with 4 balls, you are lucky.

View of Koko Head and Koko Crater from Diamond Head look out.

View of Kapiolani Park and Waikiki.

This island’s population is 876,151  based on 2000 census.

A quiet afternoon at the Waikiki beach.

Emiko’s pasta dish is always improving; I am failing…

A big turtle resting at the north shore.

Afternoon at the Haleiwa Beach Park.

Surfing in Haleiwa.

Enjoying the Matsumoto shave ice!

A deformed strawberry – the 3 never separated.

Another killer dish that was done without my notice.

The new baby is growing fast.

A view of Diamond Head from the Kapiolani park.

These apes made loud noises and knew how to zip like a tarzan.

There are giraffes at the zoo.

Megumi and Marron.

John, me, Taka, and Jerry.

Joji getting wrestled by Jerry’s new puppy.

Yori and her friend.

Akiko and Ben with the shakas.

The evil side of Taku.

And also the good side. Smile.

“Really mom, yes, just one piece of malasadas”.

Longhi’s Ala Moana is a great place to relax and hang out in the afternoon. This was a shrimp and scallop combo sauteed in lemon, butter, white wine, fresh basil, and chopped tomatoes served over garlic toast.
