Today, we went shopping to Waikele Premium Outlets. Many of the stores were on sale, and we were lucky to buy some nice deal merchandises. It was a busy day as there were many Japanese tourists shopping. It’s a Golden Week in Japan where most of the people are in vacation all this week. Don’t be surprised to see more than usual.

The first shop we visited was Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet and found 2 nice things. One was the variety shell decoration and other was this colorful coffee cup set. We later went to Nine West, Banana Republic, Charlotte Russe, Coach, CK and finally to Barneys New York Outlet.

We later had lunch at Restaurant Kunio near Genki Sushi and McDonald’s. We both got the lunch special which was a combination of this sushi platter, miso soup and salad. All for $12.95.
Before the day ended, we stopped at Costco and bought the groceries for this week. It was a warm and fun day today!

Today, we celebrated Tanner’s last day with Research at the Indigo Restaurant in Downtown, Honolulu. Sara and I treated him the delicious all-you-can-eat brunch. This restaurant is one of the best places in Downtown for lunch. Their style is Eurasian and the flavor is just extra-ordinary. Each entree has a special taste to it and the vegetable varieties are all fresh and crunchy. Their meats are very soft too.

What an interesting article from the Honolulu Advertiser. The audit found some interesting information about the inspectors out of office more than 100 working days and one out for more than 700 days. That’s just inexcusable in my opinion. The state employees already have a generous federal and state holidays.
Get those junk cars/workers out!

So here I am trying to cook this beef stir-fry to make it more colorful. Basically, I sliced up the red, orange, and yellow bell peppers, onion, and beef. Stir fried with olive oil, oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and little bit of lemon juice to soften the beef. Takes no more than half an hour, colorful, and delicious!

Happy Birthday Rock! Chi and Rock invited us for his birthday party at their house tonight. We had really nice selection of wines and champagnes as he’s the expert when it comes to them. I tried the cassis champagne which was absolutely delicious. Emiko loved the Riesling Kabinett. The best appetizer was the strawberries with honey from France. It was nice to see their friends and talk to them all through the night. Thank you for inviting us!
We drove to Hilo from Kona for our last day at the Big Island. Before checking out at the hotel, we had to stop for breakfast – their pastries and fruits are very delicious and this was something we looked forward everyday!! On the way to Hilo, we stopped at Akaka Falls State Park and took some photos there. When we arrived in Hilo, we went to eat lunch at One Plus One cafe at Prince Kuhio Plaza. After lunch, we drove to Rainbow Falls look out, Merrie Monarch stadium, Big Island Candies, Mauna Loa Factory, and to Low International Food Restaurant where we bought gifts. By the time it was all done, it was almost 8pm. We flew back to Oahu around 8:30pm. This trip was so awesome!! We both really enjoyed the Big Island and look forward to visiting the place again.

Went out hiking to Lapakahi Park and Waipio Valley. Lapakahi Park is one of the park located on the Kohala side of the Big Island. This park was an ancient fishing village and now a historic site with no swimming allowed, mostly just for hiking and observing the look out. Waipio Valley is located on the end of Kohala coast. Luckily, the weather was sunny for some nice photos. The hike down to the beach was fun and beautiful. At the end of our hiking trip, we drove the Waimea and had a quick lunch and later stopped at The Shops at Mauna Lani which just opened.

We woke up early in the morning to explore the Hilton Waikoloa Resort. It’s a very beautiful resort that has almost everything. There were lots of mainland visitors and families this time. At night, we went to star gazing tour by Taikobo Hawaii – a very well-known Japanese star gazing tour. We met Hide who was our tour guide last year. He used to live here on Oahu for more than 20 years and now living in Big Island. We envied him very much. The star gazing was absolutely gorgeous. There were so many stars on this very chilly night. If you ever visit the Big Island, you definitely need to go star gazing tour. Not many places offer this lifetime beauty.

Once again, we are here at the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. Vacation? Well, yeah… but more importantly to rejuvenate our life and appreciate more about earth. We took the 5:30am flight to Kona to spend as much time possible here. Weather was mostly sunny to clear at night. Had lunch with our good old friend Margo Mau at the Beach Cafe and later relaxed at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort hotel.
